Podcast Assignment - 2012 London Olympic Opening Ceremony.

Welcome to my Podcast.

For my Podcast Assignment I have chosen to talk a little about the 2012 London Olympic Opening Ceremony.
Please do not try and fix your computer settings or volume, I am sick and can hardly talk so I sound a bit rough  :-)
I look forward to reading your comments.

  1. Hi Sylvia,

First off, hope you get better soon! :0)

I enjoyed listening to you podcast. I have to say I watched the opening ceremonies and I didn't get most of the references and it did go a bit over my head, especially the hospital stuff. That said it was a spectacular opening, well choreographed and the fact that most of the talent were citizen volunteers was amazing. I didn't realize that it was privately funded. That in itself is amazing. As for the Olympics on a whole, I share your joy in seeing/hearing the crowds cheering on for the athletes.

  2. Hi Sylvia,

I really loved your podcast. What a wonderful idea to talk about the Olympics. I must say it was quite captivating for the most part. My kids taught the funniest thing was, when the queen jumped out the plane in a parachute. I think if Toronto were to host the Olympics, it would be a spectacular event, because of our multicultural society. I can’t wait to see what’s planned for the closing ceremony. I am looking forward to that.

    Thanks,
    Leena

  3. Hi Sylvia-
Thank you for your podcast. I unfortunately missed the opening ceremonies so it was great to hear your impression of them, especially given that you are from England. I agree that you don't have to spend alot of money and 'out do' the last country that held the Olympics in order to make it great. I also found it interesting that none of the money came from the public sector, but from private sector organizations. I wasn't aware of this and find it pretty amazing actually. All the best to you,
    Alicia

  4. Hi Sylvia

    Having trouble posting to webCT.

Excellent choice of topic!! Relevent, interesting and timely. After watching the opening ceremony, hearing your thoughts has brought the "story" into better perspective. Hopefully you have enjoyed this experience - podcasting is a very useful tool.
